The history of the Walton family

When Ruth was born at home in 1851, the family were living at 25 Andrew Street, Brightside, Sheffield. At the time, Charles was employed as a railway stoker.

When Ruth's mother Ann registered her birth, she was unable to write and had to sign the registration document with her mark.
