Alfred and Edith married on 11 September 1920. Alfred George was a sergant in the R.B. when he married Edith.
They were both living at 1 Grey Friars Villas in Winchester when they married. Grey Friars Villas were likely to have been a row of terraced town houses.

Alfred stayed in the army until 1927.

On leaving the army, Alfred took over the license of the pub "The New Bell and Crown". This was in the High Street but is now believed to be a butchers shop.

Just off the High Street is Middle Brook Street where Edith was born.

Their son Alfred is believed to have died in early childhood.
