Gravestone photographic resource project

Volunteers

The gravestone photographic resource project is an attempt to provide a much needed on-line resource for family historians.

Th project aims to place online details of all pre 1900 UK gravestones that are currently legible.

All the work of the project is carried out by volunteeers. They take the photographic images and produce the input that is used to produce the project's data base and web pages.

The project is initially concentrating on East Anglia where its primary volunteers are based. They have already started to index both church and municipal cemetaries in Suffolk. The current timetable hopes to complete Suffolk by the end of 2003 and Norfolk by 2004.

The timetable for other parts of the country will be very dependant upon where other volunteers are based and how much time they can give to the project.

You can help by becoming a volunteer. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please e-mail us at volunteer@gravestonephotos.com and we will send you further details. Please put the word 'volunteer' within the email subject otherwise it may be rejected by our anti-spam system.

If you cannot be a volunteer then please help the project by making a donation - since the project started we have had only one donation!
